Since I am starting a new year, I thought I would start us off with this verse:

²³ “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”  (Mark 9:23)

Why did I choose this one?  A new year starts everything anew.  In the context of this verse, a young boy has been seized since youth by an evil spirit, it throws him into convulsions.  His father tells Jesus in verse 22, “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”

We all know that Jesus can do it all.

This promise to us doesn’t mean we can demand anything and everything we want, but God promises us that in all things good, if we believe, all things are possible through him.    So let’s start off this new year with this promise from the Lord and see what all it will bring to us!
